Everyday Hamburgers
Yields patties
Mains
This is a simple recipe adapted for grass-fed ground beef. Hamburgers made with grass-fed beef can sometimes end up a little dry, but the generous portion of minced onions and milk soaked bread keeps this burger moist and juicy.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 thick slice of sandwich bread
- 1 cup minced onion
- 1/2 cup fine diced celery
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon Worcesteshire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- Tabasco to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
- In a mixing bowl pour milk over bread until liquid is well absorbed. Tear milk soaked bread into small pieces. To bread mixture, add beef, onions, celery, carrots, egg, Worcesteshire, ketchup, Tabasco, salt and pepper to taste. Combine well.
- Form mixture into 5 to 6 patties.
- Over medium heat in a grill pan or outdoor grill cook for about 5 minutes per side or until center of burger has a slight give for medium doneness.
