PIRIE
The look: Small, up to ½ pound. Green skin with orange top where exposed to sun, slightly yellow as it ripens.The scent: Pungent—sometimes likened to kerosene.
The flesh: A fragile variety, with flesh that is soft and almost orange in color. Can be very sweet but tends to ripen very quickly. Sour when green.

WHITE PIRIE
The look: Can grow to ¾ pound. Light yellow skin that darkens as it ripens.The scent: Pungent.
The flesh: More lightly colored and firmer than the Pirie, White Pirie can be very sweet.

MAPULEHU
The look: Roundish with a point near the base, up to 1½ pounds. Skin is smooth and goes from green to yellow to orange as it ripens.The scent: Flower-like.
The flesh: Soft with a distinct mild taste.

HAYDEN
The look: Round to oblong shape, up to 1¾ pound. Turns yellow and red as it ripens, redder if exposed to sun.The scent: Fruity.
The flesh: Firm, with some fiber. Flavor is slightly acidic, slightly creamy.

KEIT
The look: Oblong shape, up to 3-4 pounds. Skin goes from green to orange as it ripens.The scent: Very little.
The flesh: Yellow and firm. Slightly acidic and mild-tasting.

GOUVEIA
The look: Oblong shape that narrows at the base. Smooth skin turns yellow and red as it ripens, redder if exposed to sun. Skin tends to get black mottling.The scent: Fruity.
The flesh: Yellow, with no fiber. Flavor is sweet, with little acid.

MOMI K
The look: Oblong shape that narrows at the base. Skin is not smooth. Turns yellow and red as it ripens, redder if exposed to sun.The scent: Fruity.
The flesh: Slightly orange, firm with no fiber. Slightly creamy and sweet.

MAKAHA HYBRID
The look: Round with indentation at the stem, up to 2 pounds. Skin is not smooth and turns a peach color as it ripens.The scent: Slightly fruity.
The flesh: Firm and without fiber. No acid, sweet and creamy.
REUBEN
The look: Roundish, up to 3-4 pounds. Skin is smooth and turns red, orange and yellow as it ripens.The scent: Orange-like.
The flesh: Orange and soft, slightly acidic. Tastes like an orange.

POPE
The look: Heart-shaped, up to 1 pound. Skin is not smooth and turns from purple-green to red at the top and yellow at the base.The scent: Complex.
The flesh: Firm and without fiber. Flavor is rich and creamy, with no acid.
RAPOZA
The look: Heart-shaped, up to 3-4 pounds. Skin is smooth and shiny and turns reddish as it ripens.The scent: Slight.
The flesh: Yellow and soft, almost melting in the mouth. Flavor is sweet and can over-ripen to hints of soursop.
